About the band
Eight Bucks Experiment started in Colorado in the spring of 1995. Not because they wanted to be famous. Not because they had a plan. Because punk rock had gotten soft, and somebody had to do something about it. What followed was years of small venues, borrowed gear, van life, and shows that had no business going the way they went. This is their story.
SLC Punk!
In 1998, Eight Bucks Experiment took the stage in James Merendino’s cult classic SLC Punk!, one of the most honest films ever made about punk rock and what it does to a person. A Colorado band, a fictional band name, and a performance that captured an entire era in a single scene.
